Editorial: Who Counts? Issues of definition in anti-trafficking and housing research and action

The relationship between homelessness and contemporary forms of slavery human trafficking is well established. Early research often took this for granted was frequently divorced from housing policy or theory. Interdisciplinary has continued to ignore how the sector struggled with its own issues around defining what dominant definition (the United States’ HUD-Rossi definition) meant our understanding homelessness. This Editorial a Special Issue Anti-Trafficking Review on ‘home homelessness’ discusses definition, impact research, both domestically abroad, recent rejection ‘roof-based’ return socio-cultural definitions. With these definitions in mind, special issue introduces touching upon intersection anti-trafficking three categories: 1) listening traditional subjects their views housing, homelessness, homes; 2) illustrating state immigration policies encourage exploitation; 3) critiquing provided by criminal justice falls short supporting home-like environment.
